Asylum Seekers are living in a combination of hotels and dispersed accommodation

All Councils are involved in providing support for English language courses and for local liaison with housing, health and education services

Our Project aims to:

• Provide early advice on housing options
• Where social housing is not realistic, identify suitable quality private housing solutions for refugees
• Support refugees to meet the costs of securing private housing including arranging for rent deposits and addressing any landlord guarantee requirements
• Facilitate refugees with obtaining utilities such as gas and electricity
• Assist refugees to find employment and/or apply for welfare benefits
• Help with setting up a bank account and obtaining a credit card
• Provide continuing support to refugees, delivering services directly or connecting with relevant agencies to meet identified needs
